RC Dock Group enriches AYOP network with innovations in robotics, AI and data management

We would like to introduce you to one of the newest AYOP members. RC Dock Group provides advanced solutions for offshore data collection using unmanned vessels, ROV systems and new methods of data storage and processing.

Efficient and cost-effective data collection with unmanned vessels

“With the use of robotics and AI, we are making offshore data collection more efficient and affordable,” said Ronald Kraft, co-founder of RC Dock. “Our MARIP-12 and MARIP-24 USVs (unmanned vessels) replace large manned vessels, which not only lowers personnel costs but also dramatically reduces fuel consumption. This makes data collection for asset owners not only more economical but also more sustainable.” Both USVs are fully remotely operated from control rooms in Dubai and IJmuiden, with certified operators remaining involved 24/7.

ROV operations and subsea inspections.

RC Dock works with specialized partners to perform subsea inspections using ROV and SONAR systems. From corrosion measurements to complex interventions at great depths. The ROV systems are equipped with state-of-the-art sensors and manipulators. “These advanced technologies allow us to perform safe and efficient data collection even under the harshest conditions,” said Ronald Kraft.

Data storage in the North Sea with Ocean Vault

In addition to data collection, RC Dock offers innovative solutions for data connection and storage. With Ocean Vault, RC Dock introduces underwater data centers that operate off-grid and use natural water cooling. These data centers store data via blockchain technology, providing immutable and secure storage.

“By using the natural cooling of seawater, our data centers can operate virtually carbon-neutral,” said Ronald Kraft. “Thanks to blockchain, stored data is completely immutable, which is crucial for reliability and integrity. This opens up new opportunities to use data for forward-looking applications. In addition, it offers customers physical protection and compliance with the strictest EU regulations on data integrity and security.”

Future perspectives and collaboration within AYOP

AYOP director Dionne Ruurda endorses the importance of these innovations. “There is a huge shortage of personnel in the offshore energy sector. The use of robots and AI is helping to solve this. Also, information security is an increasingly important issue, also in our sector. As AYOP, we believe it is important to follow innovations in these areas. Therefore, we are pleased that RC Dock is now also part of the network.”
