Industry leader Van Oord Offshore Wind become latest AYOP member

Van Oord is a specialist in the global realisation of offshore wind projects. With two decades of construction experience, Van Oord is a frontrunner in the transition to sustainable energy. “We closely follow all developments in the field of offshore wind to maintain our leading position,” says Dirk Katteler, business development manager for offshore wind at Van Oord. “The AYOP network will help us realise this goal.”

Over the past ten years Van Oord has been involved in a large number of offshore wind projects in Northwest Europe. Notable examples include the recently delivered wind farms Borssele III & IV, Luchterduinen, windpark Fryslân, Norther in Belgium, Deutsche Bucht in Germany and the Danish Krieger Flak. Van Oord also signed a four-year O&M (Operations & Maintenance) contract with Vattenfall in February.

Van Oord is a Dutch family business with over 150 years of heritage in international maritime engineering. From its head office in Rotterdam, the focus of activities is on dredging, land infrastructure in the Netherlands, offshore wind and the infrastructure for oil & gas. Van Oord has some 5,000 employees who worked on 200 projects in 44 countries during 2019. Its fleet consists of around 70 vessels and a large amount of special and support equipment.

Marine ingenuity is one of Van Oord’s strengths which, combined with smart sustainable solutions, is contributing to a better world for future generations. In this framework, Van Oord will continue to expand its offshore wind fleet in the coming years to accommodate the growing offshore wind market.
