HAVENPENNING 2020

Koen Overtoom, CEO at Port of Amsterdam, was awarded with the “Havenpenning 2020” on Friday evening. That happened during the live stream TV broadcast “Trossen Los!” the alternative “Havengildediner” in “Het Scheepvaartmuseum”. This program replaces the 75th edition of Amports “Havengildediner”, which was canceled due to the Covid-19 outbreak.

Koen Overtoom received this important award from port councilor Victor Everhardt, who praised the recipient for his strong ‘compass’ in turbulent times, capable of discovering and exploring new territory. Everhardt also called the CEO of Port of Amsterdam a warm advocate for the interests of his organization, but even more for the interests of his customers. In the port community, the “Havenpenning” is an important award, because it is awarded by the members of the sector. Last year the medal went to Tjeerd Schulting of Damen Shiprepair Amserdam.  The year before, our chairman Ron Davio was the lucky winner!
