Braspenning Group becomes member of AYOP

Bringing many years of ship maintenance experience to the association, AYOP’s latest member the Braspenning Group is an international concern specialised in the removal of and/or protection against corrosion and the preservation of, mainly, steel surfaces. In addition, the company builds scaffolding and provides offshore rope access services. “The recent takeover of De Back in Velsen and IJmuiden has expanded our presence in the region,” says Braspenning’s commercial director Kees Jan Groen. “We are looking forward to connecting with other professionals and member companies in the offshore sector and beyond.”

Braspenning blasts, coats and provides scaffolding for jack-ups, drilling rigs and semi-submersibles as well as many other vessels that supply services at sea. The company’s clients also use its facilities (up to 40 x 19 x 8 m) in IJmuiden, Beverwijk and Amsterdam. Rope access is mainly provided offshore to the oil & gas sector and on wind farms.

Established in 1956, the third generation of the founding family Heino Braspenning is currently at the helm. In addition to activities in offshore and at yards, the company is active in transport (trains), navy vessels and cruise ships, infrastructure (bridges, shipping impact protection) and construction.

“The versatility and offshore experience of the Braspenning Group brings a wealth of expertise and passion to the AYOP network,” comments association director Sylvia Boer. “We are pleased to welcome them onboard.”
