Aggreko newest AYOP-member

We are pleased to introduce you to a new AYOP member! Aggreko provides power, cooling, heating and air solutions. They operate in many sectors and on 220 locations worldwide.

Investing in sustainability

The past few years, Aggreko has invested heavily in sustainability and the use of greener energy. For example, they use various forms of biofuel and sustainable generators. This helps companies reduce emissions and thereby also reduce costs (think of the EU ETS; the emissions trading system for industry). “By using other types of fuel and for example Stage V generators, companies immediately save around 80-90% in both CO2 and NOx emissions,” says Michel Maaskant, Sector Account Manager Shipping & Offshore Renewables.

Innovative onshore and offshore projects

Within both the onshore and offshore sector, Aggreko is involved in great projects. Michel highlights some of them: “For example, we supply generators for the project Hollandse Kust (west Beta) and can support in the (onshore) testing of substations to save costs offshore. In the North Sea off the French coast, we deploy sustainable compressors for ‘bubble curtains‘ to minimize noise pollution from platforms for marine life. We also support customers in various grid congestion challenges with smart, hybrid solutions, in order to still make expansions or new sites possible.”

A strong network

Aggreko is already working with AYOP members on several projects. The step to join the AYOP network was therefore a logical one: “By joining the AYOP network, we can strengthen relationships and expand our network. We think it’s important to keep abreast of developments in the market and develop along with them,” Michel Maaskant said.

Continue developing green energy applications

Dionne Ruurda, director of AYOP, is also pleased with Aggreko’s membership: “Sustainability and green energy are themes that are very relevant to AYOP’s members. This is where Aggreko’s vision and way of working fits in well. Together we can continue developing green energy applications.”
