AYOP BUSINESS CALL: RENE PETERS OF TNO SHARES HIS VISION

The North Sea is playing a key role in the energy transition, initially in the oil & gas production sector and now increasingly with renewable energy. Examples of the latter include the large-scale production of wind energy, the many options related to hydrogen and the underground storage of CO2. Putting in place smart connections between the different forms of energy production and infrastructure in the North Sea will speed up the goal of a climate-neutral energy system. System integration on the North Sea will also save billions of euros and a considerable amount of CO2 emissions.

During the business call, René Peters, Business Director Gas Technology at TNO and responsible for the North Sea Energy programme, will examine the concrete opportunities all the above offers the North Sea Canal area. Subjects will include the reuse and dismantling of oil & gas infrastructure, offshore energy islands & hubs which produce hydrogen, and future offshore energy developments such as CO2 storage. Our interactive discussion will zoom in on the opportunities available to members.

Let’s make the most of the potential of the North Sea together!
